Household Homemade Ceramic Tile Cleaning Solutions:

For some of the minor stains, utilizing the common household items like vinegar or baking soda can be effective cleaners.

Tile & Grout Cleaning Solution #1: Combine equal parts white vinegar and water and spray on tile and grout. Allow the mixture to settle for 5 minutes, reapply and scrub again.
Tile & Grout Cleaning Solution #2: Create a paste for tougher stains by adding a few tsp of water at a time to baking soda until the paste is created. Apply the paste to the grout and tile and allow it to settle for 10 minutes.
After you apply your preferred remedy, scrub with a stiff brush but do not use any metal material brushes. Scrub in small circles rather than straight up and down scrubbing to remove more grit and debris from the grout and to remove the filmy layers on the tile. Rinse well with warm water, and blot away remaining moisture with a dry cloth or paper towels.

Basic Tile and Grout Department Store Cleaners:
The basic cleaners in your department stores such as; generic bathroom cleaners, disinfectants, or powder-based cleaners are well designed to remove the residue of filth on tile and grout. Be sure to always follow the labels directions and then scrub after applications and make sure to rinse and dry the grout and tile surface well after cleaning.
Extra Strength Tile and Grout Cleaners:
For the really stubborn stains more powerful products like oxygen bleach powder, hydrogen peroxide, or chlorine bleach might be called for. These potent products should be diluted with water before use. Always follow manufacturer’s directions, wear gloves and if possible a mask when handling the product. Do know that bleach should never be used on colored grout, as it will lighten your grout permanently. Do not rely on bleach products and use them too much because it can deteriorate grout leaving it damaged. They are only recommended for tough and stubborn stains, not for regular maintenance.
